About

Quinn (Q) Furnald is a Catholic Christian Musician, passionate about service and ministry.  Since a very young age, Q has been singing and performing with the Sing Alleluia Sing choir at his home parish of St. Luke Catholic Community of Long Valley, NJ.  Q graduated from Montclair State University in June of 2021 with a Masters of Arts in Music Composition, with a secondary focus in Choral Conducting, and graduated from Lehigh University in May of 2018, with a B.A. in Music, with a dual concentration in Composition & Theory, and Conducting.

He has traveled for service and for work with Catholic HEART Workcamp and has helped with music ministries at their summer camps as part of their media team with summer staff.

As a composer, Q Furnald has studied with Dr. Aaron Helgeson and Dr. Marcos Balter at Montclair State University, and Dr. Steven Sametz and Dr. Paul Salerni at Lehigh University.  Sametz and Salerni were mentors to his senior composition recital at Lehigh.  Dr. Sametz was also a mentor to Q Furnald's conducting recitals and guided him on conducting his original works at his senior recital.

Q Furnald has focused most of his study in composition and conducting towards worship music and choral music, and is developing his style as a modern choral composer, singer/songwriter, and worship leader.  He was very active with the choral arts departments of the schools he attended, working as conductor's assistant to Dr. Sametz at Lehigh, and as the graduate assistant and student conductor for Dr. Heather J. Buchanan at MSU in the 2020-2021 MSU Choral Season.

Q Furnald is a contemporary worship artist and has led worship music, as both a solo artist and with worship teams for retreats, service/mission camps, conferences, and masses for a number of parish and church communities around the United States.
